Glossary

  1. Web3: An internet or network service that is not operated by centralized companies, institutions, or governments, but instead is decided upon by participating users. It allows creators to directly receive and distribute profits without going through a third party.

  2. Decentralize: The act of breaking free from control by centralized companies, institutions, or governments.

  3. NFT: An abbreviation for Non-fungible token. A blockchain token with a unique, non-replaceable value.

  4. Crypto asset: A token or another form of asset that exists on a blockchain network.

  5. DEX: Decentralized exchange. Prices are determined and trades are executed based on automated algorithms or mechanisms.

  6. CEX: Centralized exchange. Trading takes place through a centralized intermediary, similar to a stock exchange order book.

  7. P2E: An abbreviation for Play to Earn. Earning benefits by playing games.

  8. Ethereum: A public blockchain platform created by Vitalik Buterin on July 30, 2015, and also the name of the platform's native currency.

  9. Binance Smart Chain: A public blockchain platform created by the cryptocurrency exchange Binance.

  10. Avalanche: A decentralized open-source proof-of-stake blockchain with smart contract functionality. AVAX is the platform's native cryptocurrency.

  11. Polygon: A decentralized Ethereum scaling platform that enables developers to build scalable, user-friendly dApps without sacrificing security and with low transaction fees.

  12. Cardano: A public blockchain platform that is open-source, decentralized, and uses proof of stake. Cardano's cryptocurrency is called ADA.

  13. Crypto ecosystem: A system organized around crypto assets such as cryptocurrencies and NFTs in the blockchain field.

  14. Game ecosystem: A system within a game where cryptocurrencies and NFTs are interconnected.

  15. Crypto economy: The economy of crypto assets such as cryptocurrencies and NFTs.

  16. PFP: An abbreviation for Profile Picture. It refers to creating various character-shaped profiles as NFTs for use in the crypto field.

  17. STO: An abbreviation for Security Token Offering. It is a concept opposite to utility tokens, involving the tokenization and public offering of a specific value. For example, tokenizing the actual value of real estate or other assets as a security token and making it public.

  18. Governance: In the crypto field, governance is issued in the form of tokens. Token holders can participate in governance by expressing their opinions through voting actions.

  19. Liquidity pool: A pool in DEX where token liquidity is supplied for trading. Transactions occur and prices are determined through the tokens in this pool.

  20. Yield farming: The act of earning interest through providing liquidity to DEX or participating in staking activities.

  21. Bridge: A solution that connects different blockchain platforms, allowing users to interact and transfer assets between them.

  22. Dapp: Decentralized Application, a type of application that runs on a distributed computing system, typically a blockchain network, rather than a centralized server.
